Being Human

I thought it was a poor ending to what was becoming an amazing series.

The end scene where our anti hero wanted to be killed by George even had me screaming ‘get on with it then’.

I now have to investigate this spin off they are talking about called Becoming Human.

It had gone really dark and then with the slapstick humour at the end killed it as little

Thank god Mitchell killed Herrick otherwise my home town would be overrun with dam Vampires.

I so didn't want Mitchell to die.

I actually forgot how good an actor Samuel L. Jackson is. The film is in fact 10 years old but how can you go wrong when you mix in some great English actors and the British sense of humour. The funny side for us Brits was the Liverpudlian connection and the slapstick attitude of the Manchester and Liverpool police force. Gotta luv a guy in a kilt. Great film.

And yet another film I must add to my list of "must-sees." I would love for you to put together a list of your top 25 films, of all time or perhaps just recent views.

Avatar

I’m not a critic, nor have I ever professed to be, I simply write it as I see it. Avatar, I know I’m late getting there but it’s my prerogative as I run a home and extended family.

I thought the film was great. Why did I ever think this was a kid’s film? Would they have ‘got the message’ or even understood the underlining meanings (which basically means getting that message).

My friends are my best critics as they know my tastes in film and I thought it strange when they kept quiet about this one except for saying ‘’you need to see it’’.

The talk of mother earth and how everything was connected must have made this a hit with the Wiccan community, or did it?

The idea that a marine, no let’s say soldier as this applies to any country, where a handful of these soldiers prefer to choose for themselves what is wrong and right and to see its leaders as the bad guys and take matters into their own hands. I wonder what stance a soldier would have on that?

The paraplegic main character and his thought on flying were over whelming, the psychology of that was ‘wow’ and again if you chose to see it that way.

Even basic faith was tagged in this film…..

Very, very thought provoking, if one chooses to see it like that at all.

Sure it was long but then I had the pleasure of watching it from home and stopping it twice to get on with chores etc before returning to it, and I must say I was very eager to return to it.

The film itself had ideas and scenes that could have come from many a good book or war film previously made, good versus evil with good always winning. We even had a touch of Rambo thrown in for good message which made me smile.

This film was a winner for me.

Being Human!

So our resident werewolf is talking to another werewolf and the guest werewolf proclaims,

‘’Just an observation but you lot do swear quite a lot and McNair says that shows a limited vocabulary.’’

‘’Does he?’’ says George, ‘’Well I speak six different languages so McNair can just …… piss off!’’

My daughter on walking into the house and screwing up her nose says ‘’phew dad, that smells like cabbage, what we having’’ ….. errr cabbage!!

I never liked cabbage when I was younger but as a side vegetable with meat and spuds I’ve grown to love it. Sure I over cook it but I really have learnt to appreciate the taste. I now buy the frozen variety which makes life a lot easier for me as it stores well and is just so damn convenient.

I can remember stories my gran would tell about not throwing away the boiled water as it was used as the basis for a soup. This is a step and a position I am glad not to be in as I may like it but as a soup ….. I’ll stick with the Jewish penicillin.

I just watched The Social Network. I had no clue to how Facebook was formed and never really cared. It’s amazing what we take for granted and makes me appreciate all that Cancer is doing for this site.

Great film, I thoroughly enjoyed it.
